MacDonald's remodeled

It seems that I was eating too healthily, because I noticed that MacDonald's near the freeway remodeled just now. They erected more partitions and started to sell ice-cream, for an overall cafe look.

I remember how so-called "experts" wrote in books a few years ago how MacDonald's makes their benches and chairs uncomfortable, and paints interiors in bright colors. The idea was to make customers wanting to leave as soon as they're done. Now it's exactly the opposite (at least in Tracy). They want you to stay. BTW, I need to check for that free wireless which MacDonald's were going to get across the country. Maybe they put that in during remodeling.

Yea I heard that the MCd corp is taking the starbucks approch. Gearing it up to be a place to chill with friends. The logic makes sense but who wants to hang at a fastfood place any longer then you have to when there is a perfectly good starbucks within walking distance from any mickyDs?

You may be projecting your tastes here. For example, I'd rather be in MacDonald's. And consider a couple of other points: All neighbourhood Starbucks are so crowded that you can't concentrate on anything, and that the wireless at MacDonald's is (supposedly) free, while at Starbucks it isn't.
