Frisco: SanRaku

I was in San Francisco today again and visited the Sanraku restaurant, located inside Metreon. Oddly enough, there's no explanation on their website what their name means and neither an official Japanese spelling. The logo looks like the 3-layer delivery container, so perhaps "sanraku" stands for "three racks".

The menu is very typical, but it seems obvious that they avoid selling cheaper items: there is no katsudon among donbury. Their tonkatsu was quite good, second only to Osaka on Filmore.
